Parent and Child

Parent and Child classes are designed for an adult and a child (6months-3 years) to participate together to learn and practice fundamental swimming and water safety skills. Students are acclimated to the water through a series of games, activities, songs and skills led by an instructor. Parents learn important holding and support techniques to assist their young swimmer along with basic water safety.

The certified Red Cross Water Safety Instructor will follow a plan that is developmentally appropriate for infants and young children.

Note:

Swim Diaper needed for any participant.

It is important to understand that this class is not designed to teach children to become good swimmers or even survive in the water on their own. This is not Infant Safety Rescue (ISR).
